How it works

How desktop is meant to sit alongside the web

Desktop is in development. The intent is narrow on purpose: change where NoteHarbor runs rather than what the product does.

  1. Step 01

Sign in to the same NoteHarbor

Desktop is another way into the existing product rather than a different dataset.

  2. Step 02

    Work in a dedicated window

Servicing gets its own application, so the work is not competing for attention with thirty other tabs.

  3. Step 03

    Stay consistent across machines

The same product on macOS and Windows, so a mixed team is not quietly split across two different surfaces.

The shape of it

Two ways in, one set of records

The browser and the desktop application are intended as two ways into the same NoteHarbor records, so desktop changes where the work happens rather than what it is worked on.

  • Browser NoteHarbor on the web, available today
  • Desktop application macOS and Windows, in development
Shared The same NoteHarbor records

Both doors are intended to lead to the same NoteHarbor records, so desktop changes where the work happens rather than what it is worked on.

What it does

Capabilities, and why each one earns its place.

  • 01

    A dedicated window

Servicing work gets its own application rather than competing with every other open tab.

Why it matters Work you are in all day deserves a window that is still where you left it.

  • 02

    macOS and Windows

The same product on both platforms, so a mixed team is not split across tools.

Why it matters A team that works two different ways eventually documents two different processes.

  • 03

    The same NoteHarbor records

Desktop is a different way in, not a different dataset.

Why it matters The moment there are two datasets, somebody has to decide which one is right.

Where it fits

The jobs this was built to carry.

  1. 01

    Give servicing its own window

A servicing desk that wants NoteHarbor as its own application rather than a tab that keeps getting lost.

  2. 02

Work the way a daily operator works

Daily operators who prefer native window behavior for software they are inside of constantly.

  3. 03

    Standardize a mixed team

A team standardizing on the same NoteHarbor surface across both macOS and Windows machines.

What happens next
